Millet is not just a staple grain. For many Indigenous Peoples, millet simultaneously links rituals, seasonal cycles, land, diet, family memory, and tribal order. When it is placed in the classroom, what matters is not turning culture into a game, but ensuring that the next generation understands: crops themselves are knowledge systems. Crops in the fields, elders' accounts, Indigenous language names, cultivation techniques, climate change, and dietary methods should all be organized as public data that can be learned from, queried, and used back in the community.
