20:07 Update

Central Weather Administration severe-thunderstorm message No. 1150470 expired at 17:15. The mountain torrential-rain flash-flood alerts covering 南勢溪 and 大豹溪 in Wulai and 宇內溪 and 霞雲溪 in Fuxing, Taoyuan, expired at 18:15. As of 20:07, the Central Weather Administration listed no new heavy-rain or torrential-rain advisories and no new severe-thunderstorm messages. Northern Indigenous areas had returned to general monitoring and were no longer under an active alert from this event.

The Water Resources Agency listed no active inundation, river-level, or reservoir-release alerts. The Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation reported zero red and zero yellow alerts for debris flows and large-scale landslides. The Directorate-General of Personnel Administration's 19:22 update listed no work or class suspensions.

A separate high-risk monitoring operation remains in place after the landslide-dammed lake on Hualien's Wanli River overflowed. A red no-entry control also remains in force within the river channel inside the levees on both sides of Wanli River Bridge. This red control applies only to the controlled river-channel area; it does not mean that all land in Wanrong Township is under a red alert.

16:20 Update

The Central Weather Administration issued severe-thunderstorm message No. 1150470 for Yilan County, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan City, valid until 17:15. Strong convection could bring intense rain, lightning, strong gusts, and low visibility. Mountain areas also faced the risk of slope collapse, rockfall, and rapidly rising streams.

The Central Weather Administration also issued mountain torrential-rain flash-flood alerts valid until 18:15 for:

• 南勢溪, Wulai District, New Taipei City: From 紅河谷 to the 龜岩寶島 area.
• 大豹溪, New Taipei City: Nearby mountain streams and recreation waters.
• 宇內溪, Fuxing District, Taoyuan City: Around 宇內橋.
• 霞雲溪, Fuxing District, Taoyuan City: Around 優霞雲瀑布.

Alert Level

The flash-flood alerts and severe-thunderstorm message above had expired, and northern Indigenous areas had returned to general monitoring. These notices were not red alerts for debris flows or large-scale landslides, and no Level 1 inundation alert was identified.

Recommended Actions

Although the alerts had expired, hazards around mountain streams, waterfalls, slopes, and rockfall areas could persist after rain. Check official real-time information again before entering mountain areas, and avoid riverbeds, sandbars, waterfalls, areas beneath bridges, and low-lying waters during unstable weather. If local police, fire services, or road authorities impose a closure or instruct people to leave or evacuate, comply immediately. Further updates remain subject to official real-time notifications.
